Maritimo S Series 75
Australia
Maritimo represents a defining chapter in FiveBlade’s design story. During his time as Maritimo’s Head of Design from 2016 to 2024, and Managing Director from 2021 to 2024, FiveBlade founder Tom Barry-Cotter led design and new product development through a period of strong commercial success. It was within this environment that the FiveBlade design philosophy and process were refined: insight-driven design, multi-purpose platform thinking, common-component strategies, and modular systems that support both versatility and production efficiency. The result is a depth of experience in large-scale boatbuilding and practical, manufacturing-led design that continues to shape FiveBlade’s work today.

Extending Platform Value Through a Modular Strategy
The Maritimo S Series – including the S55, S60, S600 and S75 – was developed to leverage the proven strengths of the M Series platform while expanding the brand into the broader coupe market. Using a modular design and tooling strategy, the range shared key engineering, structural and deck components with its M Series counterparts, requiring minimal additional tooling. The result was a high-return platform that extended Maritimo’s market reach and introduced a tougher point of difference in a largely lifestyle-driven segment.Expanded into the Coupe Segment with Strategic Efficiency
Maritimo’s strategy positioned the M Series as the primary platform and the S Series as a targeted derivative. This reflected the brand’s flybridge heritage while providing a cost-effective way to compete in the larger coupe market. The approach allowed Maritimo to stay focused on its core cruising segment while capturing new opportunities in a more competitive, higher-volume category.Created a Distinct Position in the Coupe Market
While many coupe models in the segment focus on luxury and entertaining, the S Series was positioned differently. Built from the same robust, long-range, shaft-driven foundation as the M Series, it offered a tougher, more capable interpretation of the coupe format. This gave Maritimo a distinct market position– combining modern sport sedan appeal with the durability and offshore capability of a serious cruising platform.Activated the Hardtop as Functional Lifestyle Space
A key differentiator of the S Series was the use of the hardtop as functional storage space – an area often underutilised in competing models. By accommodating tenders, personal watercraft and other gear, the design improved versatility while freeing up space in the tender garage or aft deck. In the S600 Offshore variant, this also preserved the rear cockpit for fishing and other active use.
